Windows 8 is expected to support desktop computer and table computer. Did anyone predict or thought that it will support smart phones as well. Intel CEO Paul Otellini’s financial conference call makes it clear that Microsoft is designing it’s upcoming operating system to support mobile phones.

Otellini said “We have the ability to put our lowest-power Intel processors running Windows 8, or ‘next-generation Windows’ into phones, because it’s the same OS stack.”

Definitely, it would add more excitement to Windows 8 on top of the new leaked features in the last couple of months. In perfect world, desktops, laptops, tablets and mobiles will be using the same operating system and compatible each other. That should make it easier for developers to build software and applications and they should work in the same way on different hardware. Same time it can affect the security of the devices as malware may run on each device.

Windows 8 supporting mobile phones already created arguments and discussions like what would happened to Windows Phone 7?
